Proposal

A written document that you present to a client, outlining how you can help them achieve their goals/ create their media product. 

Once an outline idea or concept has been created for an original media product this needs to be documented so that the client can read about it. 

A proposal is written in sections that cover different areas:

aims and objectives

target audience

resources

genre

content

article ideas

design ideas

Form, Content, Genre

Content: images, font style, interview, columns, features, reviews, types of music, artists, venues,genres.

Primary, Secondary 

Demographics

Task 1. 
Think of two different music genres and then identify the primary and secondary audience for each, including a use of GRACE. 
Rock
Primary: The majority of this audience are white males between the ages of 24-45. Often they are lower/middle class and are of American descent. 
Secondary: Young adults and teenagers who enjoy the genre can be either gender but are often white. 
Heavy metal 
Primary: Often white males, these people are usually millennials or people in their mid-late 50s. 
Secondary: Gothic individuals often in their late twenties and usually males.

Resources and personnel 
digital camera, camera lenses, tripod, graphics tablet, computer system, tablet, photoshop, props, costumes, photographer, model. 

Distribution and marketing methods
Synergy, online presence, social media, cross promotion, advertising. 
Synergy: when two or more companies work together, to produce a media product that is far superior than having one singular product working on it. E.g. "get out" Warner bros and Lego: Lego movie.
Cross promotion: when a product promotes another product either from the same company, or a different company.

Sample Materials
Font ideas, colour schemes, sketches, competition (maybe say your magazine will be similar to vogue with a twist). 
ADVICE: 3 colours, 3 fonts!

Proposal, rock 
Target audience: Rock has a wide appeal and therefore can appeal to a range of people of different ages. However, it primarily appeals to white males aged 24-40 based on a study done in 2017. Additionally, many rock artists are British including- led zeppelin, pink floyd and many more- which allows many British people to personally identify with the bands and artists, making the genre vastly popular in Britain. 
In addition, the secondary audience of rock 


USP: unique selling point. 
E.g. QR codes in magazines which can be scanned to take you to spotify, a 360° photo of a venue and more.
15% off with the first 10 purchases of the magazine.
